Vacuum dryersWTT - VACUUM DRYERS WITH "SMOKING" EQUIPMENT New WTT procedure to colour noble and dark wood. Veneers, boards and even strong and massive wood planks are thoroughly coloured by a completely new procedure for treatment of tannin-bearing timber. Wood species especially suited for this treatment are acacia and oak. The technical equipment needed for this process is supplied as additional device for the WTT vacuum drying plant, whereby "smoking" with ammonia is accomplished in an additional step to the drying process. The obvious advantage of this concept is that the plant is capable of operating with this special treatment while being fully functional as one of our traditional vacuum dryers as well. Veneers, boards and even strong and massive wood planks are thoroughly coloured by a completely new procedure for treatment of tannin-bearing timber. Wood species especially suited for the treatment in our vacuum dryers are acacia and oak. Even thick oak planks (65mm) are through-coloured perfectly within approximately two weeks. This should be seen in contrast to existing smoking systems that with the double time consumption are capable only of colour penetrating a few millimetres into the timber. Implementation of the newest technology ensures that all requirements regarding impact to the surrounding air and water are met immediately, as is the case with requirements to operational and industrial safety. Thus only short time is needed to obtain the operation permit of this plant type. A further substantial advantage of the WTT "smoke"-drying procedure can be found in a completely new subsequent treatment procedure whereby a smell-free wood product is available immediately at the end of the treatment. Until now it has been necessary to store the smoke-treated timber several weeks in buildings equipped with costly air purification systems. The first vacuum drying plants equipped with the new smoking feature were taken into use recently by a German oak wood and veneers specialist. Delivery: Always just-in-time. Within the wood-working industry It is very important to be able to deliver at the right time at the right place. At WTT we are often very busy, but still we are able to deliver on time. One of the important reasons are our professional workforce, and another reason is our sub-suppliers who always are ready to assist when needed. The firm was established in 1977. By the end of 2003 the company was acquired by four senior colleagues and is today known as WTT - Wood Treatment Technology. WTT develop and manufacture plants for industrial wood preservation and wood drying. Examples of plants that form part of our business are creosote impregnation plants, SSV vacuum dryers, energy vacuum dryers for construction timber, impregnation plants, heat treatment plants, thermo treatment plants, creosote impregnation plants, fixation plants, double vacuum impregnation plants and hot-oil treatment plants. So far 800 plants in 36 countries have been delivered and are being serviced within the industrial wood preservation industry. Development and manufacturing within this
highly specialized business area put heavy demands on a trained and skilled work force operating the best of machinery. Since 1985 the SSV vacuum dryer has been delivered to 250 customers worldwide for drying of first class hardwood and softwood. A new energy vacuum dryer has been available since 2003. Today these highly recognized vacuum drying plants are in use in almost every field of the wood drying industry. Continuous development is ensured in cooperation with leading institutes as for example the Holzfachschule Biel in Switzerland, BFA in Hamburg, and Forintec in Canada. Examples of recent developments of WTT are the heat treatment plants as well as plants for treatment with hot-oil (linseed oil). |
